SkyRef works out your sky in your own browser. There is no account, and your location never reaches our servers.

If you allow location access, your coordinates stay on your device. Every calculation — star positions, planet positions, rise and set times — runs in your browser using a star catalogue we send you. We never receive your coordinates, and we could not look them up later even if asked.
If you decline, SkyRef falls back to a default location and everything still works.
The one exception: when you type a city name into the search box, that text is sent to our server, which forwards it to OpenStreetMap's Nominatim service to turn the name into coordinates. We cache the result for a day so repeat searches do not hit the service again. We log the search term only as long as that cache lives, and we do not associate it with you.
All of it lives in your browser's local storage and cache. Clearing your browser data removes it completely.
SkyRef sets no cookies, runs no analytics, embeds no trackers and serves no advertising. There is no cookie banner because there is nothing to consent to.
No other third party receives anything.
SkyRef is suitable for all ages and collects no personal information from anyone, including children under 13.
If this policy changes we will update the date above. Since we collect nothing, we do not expect substantive changes.
